The Rock School, a coeducational Christian day school for grades K - 12, was founded in 1993 by Pastors George & Suzanne Brantley and The Rock of Gainesville church. Students receive a well-rounded, college-preparatory education, with emphasis placed on the development of the student's mind, body, and spirit.

The mission of The Rock School is to reinforce the educational and Christian values of the home and church in a structured, academic setting. We desire to provide a diversified, quality education in a safe, Bible-centered environment. It is our goal that our students would be equipped with the necessary skills to fulfill God's purpose and calling for their lives. Through academic instruction, recognition and development of their gifts and talents, and an increased understanding of God and His Word, this mission is fulfilled.

The Rock School has an enrollment of 172 students:

  • Male - 55%, Female - 45%
  • White - 58%, Black - 21%, Hispanic - 11%, Asian - 6%, Other - 4%

  • International Students: 11%

There are 23 faculty members. 48% have taught at The Rock School for ten years or more, and four faculty members are graduates of The Rock School who returned to teach at the school after completing their college studies. Student / faculty ratio is 7:1 and the average class size is 11.

Most courses are college preparatory, and honors courses in math and English begin in seventh grade. Additional honors courses in science and history begin in ninth grade. Advanced Placement courses are offered in English Language, English Literature, United States History, World History, European History, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science A, and Calculus AB.
